Marinades are a popular technique to tenderize and add flavor to food. Although most commonly used on meats and seafood, it is also an option for vegetables and dairy items.

A marinade can be a quick 1-hour process or a long overnight preparation. The marinades can have a chemical reaction as part of the marinating process, so follow the timing instructions correctly otherwise you can end up with rubbery food.
