Campfire Egg in a Ladle

A raw egg sits in a ladle over a hot fire.

Love the simple things in life, then try cooking an egg in a ladle over the campfire. All you need is a fire, a ladle, an egg, and a little bit of patience. The egg can be served in a sandwich or eaten as-is.

Cooking the egg is just the start, then comes thinking of all the ways that you can eat it. Try it in a sandwich, over leftovers, with rice, or a million other ideas. High in protein, eggs are a healthy and simple snack or a great foundation for a meal.

Some 1900’s kitchens actually had specifically shallow ladles that were designed primarily for this task. In modern times a traditional ladle will work just fine.
