BBQ Moink Balls
Perfect appetizer conversation starters, meatballs wrapped in bacon are easy to make for parties, and they’re super tasty and fun. The name is a combination of ingredients: “moo” from the meatball and “oink” from the bacon.
You can prepare your own meatballs, if you have a favorite recipe. Or, save yourself time by buying a bag of your favorite prepared frozen meatballs.
Serve mooink balls with maple syrup or your favorite BBQ dipping sauce. These savory appetizers will disappear as fast as you can make them!
32 ounces frozen meatballs
2 (16-ounce) packages bacon
Slap Yo’ Daddy Hot Rub
cayenne pepper (optional)
maple syrup or your favorite BBQ sauce, for dipping
Semi-thaw the meatballs and wrap them with bacon. Hold the bacon in place with a toothpick.
Dust each meatball with the hot rub. Sprinkle cayenne pepper over the rub, if you like your mooinks spicy.
Cook on the top grate in a 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) pit with applewood to provide flavoring smoke. Remove the meatballs when the bacon crisps.
Drizzle with maple syrup or your favorite sweet BBQ sauce to balance the salty bacon.
