Foot Long Family Burger
A burger that is big enough to feed the whole family! The inspiration for this mega-sandwich came after repeatedly having the kids leaving most of their burgers uneaten, and the parents left hungry after scoffing down their serving.
With this giant burger, the prep is easier, and each person cuts off the amount that they want and can eat. Small portions for the kids, bigger ones for the parents. On a diet, no problems, take a thinner slice!
No more wasted burgers. This burger works great at group gatherings, too.
4 burger patties
1 yellow onion, sliced
4 mushrooms, sliced
1 foot-long roll
1 tomato, sliced
1 red onion, sliced
4 slices cheese
On a preheated BBQ griddle add the burgers and cook until the patties are browned. Flip and cook until your desired doneness.
In a skillet add the yellow onions and mushrooms then gently fry until softened while stirring often.
Halve the roll and evenly spread with the lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions.
You can add the cheese onto the roll then place the patties on top, or put them on the patties while they are still on the BBQ for extra melting. Add the burger patties, cheese and cooked onions to the roll.
Close the roll and cut to preferred serving sizes. Serve with ketchup, and any other desired condiments, on the side.
