Beer Battered Fried Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
Seasoned Flour
- 3 cups plain all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt flakes
- 2 teaspoons fresh ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne powder
- 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Beer Batter
- 2 eggs
- 1 can craft beer such as raspberry sour
- 1 1/3 cup plain flour
- 1 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt flakes
Chicken
- 2 1/2 pounds chicken pieces
- oil to deep fry
Equipment
- 2 bowls
- deep fryer or pot
Directions
Seasoned Flour
- Add the flour, salt, pepper, cayenne, paprika, garlic, and onion to a bowl. Mix until well combined.
Beer Batter
- Crack the two eggs into a fresh bowl and whisk.
- Add to the eggs the can of beer, plain flour, pepper, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
Chicken
- Dust the chicken in the seasoned flour until completely covered. Then dip the chicken in the beer batter ensuring it is completely covered. Then return to the seasoned flour.
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer or oil in a pot until 340 degrees F (170 degrees C).
- Add the chicken in small batches so no two pieces are touching. Deep fry until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown. Serve hot.

What a wonderful recipe. I had two thighs and 3 breasts frozen. After cutting them into 2” pieces, dusted, dipped in the beer batter and dusted again. Then into the fry pot (outside of course). Each batch took about 5 minutes. Best chicken ever. I had a bottle of Walmart brand chicken dipping sauce. Excellent.
