Lamb cutlets are a nice change to cook while camping. With a lot of various cooking options, this recipe uses a whole grain mustard slather before being fried. The slather both acts as a tenderizer and a flavor booster.

This is a very versatile recipe that calls for a frypan but can be easily cooked in a skillet, on a griddle, or on a flat top grill. The heat source can be a gas stove, campfire, or grill.

This is a perfect quick and easy meal to make and serve with other summer favorites like a range of salad options. If cooking in the winter it also goes well with hearty sides like mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables.

  • olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • pinch pepper
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 4 tablespoons whole grain mustard
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • pinch cumin
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary

Lamb

  • 4 lamb cutlets
  • dash of oil

Equipment

  • frypan

Directions

Mustard Slather

  • In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, sugar, pepper, butter, garlic, whole grain mustard, red pepper flakes, cumin, orange juice, and rosemary.

Lamb

  • Slather the lamb cutlets evenly in the mustard slather.

  • Remove from the frypan and let the lamb rest before serving.
