Cheese and Tomato Stuffed Burgers

Instead of placing a slice of cheese on top of your next burger, try cheese and tomato stuffed burgers. These creative stuffed burgers are sure to be a hit at your next cookout.

Cream cheese and tomato powder are mixed together and stuffed into beef mince. Grilled to perfection, when you take a bit you’ll be delighted to find melted cheese oozing out of the burger.

Place the burgers on toasted buns and top with your favorite condiments, or eat just as they are.

Ingredients

1 kg (2 pounds) beef mince

2 to 3 onions, minced

herbs (coriander, cumin, garlic, basil, etc.), to taste

250g (8 ounces) cream cheese, at room temperature

20g (4 teaspoons) Homestead Lovers tomato powder

Recipe Directions

  1. Place the mince in a bowl and add the onions and herbs. Mix well with your hands and shape into 6 to 8 patties.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the cream cheese and tomato powder.

  3. Divide the cream cheese mixture into 3 to 4 pieces and form into balls. Place the ball of cheese onto each patty, and cover with a second patty. Carefully pinch the meat together, but don’t press too hard on top of the patty.

  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  5. Cook on the grill to desired doneness. Serve with buns and your favorite condiments.
