Sriracha Honey Chicken Wings

If you love hot and sweet finger food then you need to try these quick-cook siracha and honey chicken wings. They are a great balance between spicy sriracha and sweet honey.

Cooked in the hot and fast smoked method they are also quick to make. Making them a great option as an appetizer or pre-dinner finger food to share with friends. Of course, they can still be served as the main meat of a meal if desired.

The heat level enjoyed by people changes considerably, this simple sauce allows you to quickly adjust to personal preferences by adjusting the amounts of honey for sweetness and siracha for spiciness.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds party chicken wings
  • BBQ rub to taste

Siracha and Honey Sauce

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup siracha or to taste

Directions

  • Preheat the smoker to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).

Siracha and Honey Sauce

  • Add the butter to the heatproof bowl and place it in the smoker until the butter has melted.
  • Add the honey and sriracha to the melted butter then stir until well combined. Leave in a warm place until needed.

Chicken Wings

  • Toss the chicken wings in the BBQ rub so evenly coated. If using a Gateway Drum Smoker, place the rack on the middle level.
  • Add the seasoned chicken wings to the smoker spreading them evenly across the rack so they evenly get heat. Leave to cook for 30 minutes.
  • Turn all the chicken wings over then cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Check that the wings are cooked, if not continue to cook while checking regularly until cooked through. 
  • Once the chicken wings are cooked ad them to the sriracha and honey sauce and toss until well coated. Serve immediately.
