Whip up a tasty Dutch Oven Shepherd’s Pie in half the time by using instant potatoes and prepared gravy mix, for a warming and comforting dish. Just a few minutes of cooking is required for this easy modern take on the traditional dish, searing lamb pieces in your Dutch oven over the campfire.

This recipe has all the traditional components of a shepherd’s pie: minced meat, onions, gravy, and of course, mashed potatoes. While you take a few moments to cook the meat and let it simmer, the gravy and potatoes are prepared from mixes, saving you a lot of time and effort. The final dish is just as delicious as the original, much more complicated, version.

Play around with the different types of cheese folded into the instant mashed potatoes. To make the potatoes a little fancier, you can fold in fresh chopped chives or parsley.
