This homemade house rub is a combination of sugar and spices that can be used on any number of smoked dishes. It can be interchanged with any recipe that calls for an all-purpose rub.
Due to the sugar content, it is designed for use smoking and should be avoided when grilling as the sugars will burn and become bitter. It is a very robust flavor profile but it can be adjusted to be more spicy or hearty.
Although best suited to large meats like pork and beef it also can be used on smaller and more delicate meats like chicken and turkey. It can even be used on fish or vegetables.
