Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs
If you are going to make a hot dog, you should wrap that baby in bacon! Slightly longer prep time but totally worth the effort.
Bacon wrapped hot dogs are just like normal hot dogs, but way better. The bacon protects the sausage from the harsh heat of live five, while basting in sweet bacon fat.
once cooked serve like you would any other hot dog in a soft roll with your favorite toppings.
8 hot dogs
8 slices of bacon (8 rashes of American style bacon)
1/2 cup favorite BBQ sauce
1/4 cup apple juice
16 tooth picks, optional
Using a toothpick secure to one hot dog a slice of bacon.
Firmly wrap around the hot dog, then using another toothpick, secure the other end.
Combine the BBQ sauce and apple juice in a cup to create a glaze.
Over a moderately warm preheated grill, add the bacon wrapped hot dogs. Cook, turning as required until hated through and bacon is cooked. About 10 to 15 minutes.
Glaze the whole hot dog then cook for 3 minutes, turn, glaze again then cook for another 3 minutes.
Remove all the toothpicks, then serve as per your favorite way to serve hot dogs.
