With protein powder in the recipe, this protein banana bread has all the flavor of a traditional loaf with a little more protein to help with hard outdoor adventures.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (163 degrees C). Lightly grease the bread loaf tin.
In a large bowl add the butter and sugar then cream together. Add the vanilla then mix in until well combined.
Add the mashed banana, honey, and eggs, then beat until smooth.
Sift together the flour, protein powder, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add to the banana mixture and stir until well combined. Fold in the walnuts, if using.
Pour the banana bread batter into the prepared bread tin, smoothing the top. Place in the preheated camp oven and bake for 45 minutes.
Cover the top of the banana bread with foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.Tip: Covering the banana bread with the foil stops the top from over-browning.
When cooked a skewer can be inserted into the cake and removed clean. Remove from the camp oven and let sit in the bread tin for 10 minutes.
Remove from the bread tin and place it on a cooling rack. Eat warm or at room temperature.
