Not to be confused with pigs in a blanket, these are beef in a biscuit. They use 100% beef mini sausages wrapped in a basic flour and water biscuit dough.
Light a fire using hardwood, allowing enough time for it to burn down into coals by the time you are ready to cook.
Place the flour in a container or plastic bag.
Add the water in small additions until a dough is created. It should reach a thickness that can be kneaded. Roll the dough into small snakes, one for each mini beef sausage.
Spear the sausage onto the fire roasting stick. Wrap the dough carefully around the sausage. Pinch on to make sure is secure.
Toast the beef in a biscuit over the coals of the fire. Let cool slightly, then eat warm.Tip: Hold the beef in a biscuit over the coals, not the flames, otherwise they will go black from the yellow flame and taste bitter. Hold the beef in a biscuit in a hot location, but not too hot, otherwise, the dough will brown and cook on the outside but the dough inside will remain raw and the sausage cold.
