In a heat-proof dish add the butter, garlic, dill, and salt. Place in the BBQ and melt, but do not boil. The longer this can infuse, the stronger the flavors, a minimum of 10 minutes.
Planked Salmon
Preheat the smoker to 250 degrees F (125 degrees C).
Lay the salmon on a cooking safe plank of wood, such as untreated alder wood.
Brush the salmon with the flavored butter then add to the smoker.
Cook for 30 minutes, basting every 10 minutes. The salmon is cooked when it gently flakes away when pulled.Tip: Time may need to be adjusted depending on the thickness of the salmon fillet.
To Serve
Serve the salmon drizzled with some of the remaining seasoned butter, then garnished with the lemon and dill. Serve the remaining seasoned butter on the side.
