Put the flour in a large mixing bowl and make a well in the center. Add the cream, egg, salt, sugar, and ginger beer to the well. Mix until all the flour is bound together.
Line a Dutch oven with foil and dust with flour. Heat the Dutch oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Break off tablespoon-sized lumps of dough, roll them into balls, and toss in some flour.
Place the balls in the preheated Dutch oven and brush with milk.
